Understand your next step
Air Canada’s Trips service is the starting point for an eligible direct booking. A travel-agency ticket returns to that agency. Choose the instructions for a voluntary amendment or an airline disruption according to what happened.
- Identify the ticket seller and the reason for the amendment.
- Review the current airline instructions for this fare and itinerary.
- Confirm fees, fare differences and the effect on other passengers before accepting.

Changing your flight
Your ticket issuer is the starting point for a Air Canada itinerary change. Check the booking conditions and the full difference in price before agreeing to a replacement flight.
- Keep the confirmation, passenger names and preferred new dates together.
- Ask which parts of the booking will change, including seats and extras.
- Save the new itinerary once the provider confirms the amendment.
Cancelling a reservation
Cancellation and a cash refund are separate questions. The ticket conditions and circumstances determine whether the remaining value becomes a refund, a credit or is non-refundable.
- Confirm the passengers and flight segments you intend to cancel.
- Use the original ticket seller for an agency-issued ticket.
- Keep the cancellation acknowledgement and any refund reference.
